Moto X4 with Snapdragon 630 SoC Launched in India for ₹20,999 ($321)

At its official launch event in Delhi today, Motorola announced its latest mid-range smartphone in India: the Moto X4. Originally launched in Europe (and later in the US) a couple months ago, the Moto X4 marks the revival of Motorola’s popular midrange series in the Indian market.

As far as specs are concerned, the Moto X4 boasts a 5.2-inch FHD LTPS LCD display and Corning Gorilla Glass protecting the front and back of the device. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core SoC, featuring 8x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz frequency, with Adreno 510 GPU. The phone comes in two RAM and storage combinations: 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. The device also comes with Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band WiFi, IP68 water and dust resistance, a front-mounted fingerprint reader, USB Type-C, a microSD card slot, and thankfully, a 3.5mm headphone jack too.

The Moto X4 packs a 3,000 mAh battery and supports fast charging via Motorola’s proprietary TurboCharge technology, which the company says can provide you up to 6 hours of charge in just 15 minutes. On the software front, the device runs a near-stock version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat with some useful Moto Experiences on top like Quick Screenshots, which lets you take a screenshot with 3-finger swipe and a built-in password manager called Moto Pay.

Unlike the previous Moto devices, which utilized RGB + monochrome setup, the dual-camera setup on the Moto X4 is comprised of a 12MP f/2.0 standard lens and a 8MP f/2.2 wide-angle (120-degree) lens along with a dual-tone LED flash. Motorola is throwing in some additional camera features like selective focus, selective B&W mode and spot color mode for an enhanced photography experience. Meanwhile, the front camera is a 16MP f/2.0 shooter with a front-facing flash and offers features like beauty mode and panorama selfie.

Available in two color options, Super Black and Sterling Blue, the Moto X4 will be available exclusively from online retail partner Flipkart.com, as well as Moto Hub stores. The phone will go on sale tonight at 11:59pm (IST) on Flipkart, with the 3GB+32GB variant costing ₹20,999 (~$321) while the 4GB+64GB version will set you back ₹22,999 (~$353).
